Who we are

Boreal Praxis is an emergency management consultancy based in Ottawa and serving organizations across Canada. We operate on the conviction that true resilience isn't built on compliance; it's built on culture. We ground our strategies in human behaviour, helping leaders think clearly, act decisively, and command with empathy.

What we think

We believe emergency management is defined by the ability to make difficult choices that balance organizational objectives with the collective good and human dignity. We help clients fortify these principles so that leaders can act with conviction and integrity. Our name reflects these values: "Boreal" for the resilient strength of the north, and "Praxis" for wisdom in action.

What we do

We help small and large organizations in healthcare, government, and the private sector anticipate, withstand, and recover from emergencies. Our work spans the emergency management continuum, yet our process always begins with listening. We believe in the human capacity to meet monumental challenges, and we help teams internalize the skills and mindsets that define resilience.

Where we work

We can always come to you, and “on site” is often best. However, if we need to have quiet and practical conversations or meet in larger groups, we are happy to host. Our beautiful space at 150 Elgin St is ideal for collaboration, conversation, and finding the spark. Parking, coffee, and snacks are included.
